Policies and Guidelines
Memberships and Credits
All membership options are auto-renewing and month to month. Membership can be cancelled at any time, however 14 days notice from your billing due date via our cancellation form is required to avoid incurring your next monthly charge. No refunds are given once your membership payment is processed including but not limited to unforeseen circumstances.
Membership Types (Mecka and CrossFit*):
12X, 8X and 4X a Month Membership Options
The 12X, 8X, or 4X a month membership option references the number of classes you receive per billing cycle (e.g 12X = 12 classes, 8X = 8 classes, and 4X = 4 classes). This allows you to attend the gym up to that amount of classes, however you choose, in your billing cycle. If all alloted credits are used before your next billing period the membership payment can be processed early OR upgrade to the next tier option. Any unused credits do not carry over to the next billing cycle. Any unused credits due to suspension of your membership do not carry over to the next billing cycle. There are no expiration date extensions on any membership packages. Unused classes are not prorated regardless of circumstance.
Credit Packages
Credit packages are available for Mecka classes. All credit packages expired after one (1) year. No refunds are given once a package is purchased.
Drop-Ins
We LOVE to have visitors! Please sign up online for a drop-in. The drop-in fee for CrossFit or Mecka is $25. To drop-in to a CrossFit class you MUST have prior CrossFit experience. If you plan on dropping in for a CrossFit class, please email info@meckafitness.com
Class Cancellation
All class times and class capacities are subject to the late cancellation/no show fee of $10. Late cancellation is defined as “canceling your class AT or AFTER 12 hours prior to the start of class”. No showing a class is defined as not showing up for your class time.
Membership Cancellation
All memberships are considered month to month memberships. We require fourteen (14) days notice prior to your billing due date via the cancellation form to cancel your membership. It is the responsibility of the member to submit this form with our time requirement. Any form of communication other than our cancellation form is not accepted. If the fourteen (14) day requirement is not met your payment for your next billing cycle will be processed, however you can still attend classes for that month. No refund is issued once your payment has been processed. Memberships are not automatically cancelled or suspended for any reason. Membership suspension and cancellations are the responsibility of the member.
To SUSPEND/AUTO-PAY SKIP your membership you must follow the guidelines:
Any form of communication other than our suspension form is not accepted for suspending your membership.
Suspension/Auto-Pay Skip is defined below:
A suspension of membership is defined as SKIPPING your next one (1) to two (2) auto pays. This means we require suspensions to be a minimum of 30 days to 60 days. A 24 hour notice via our suspension form is required to suspend your next auto pay. We HIGHLY suggest suspending as close to or on your current billing due date because any days/classes remaining in your billing cycle are forfeited.
Suspensions benefit the following individuals but are not limited too:
- Members that have extended travel
- Members facing an injury
- Members having a surgery
- Members who are pregnant / go on a maternity leave
- Members who need to postpone their next auto-pay for a month or two
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: If you cancel your membership during your suspension/skip period, you are charged 1X your membership fee (i.e. if you pay $159 for your membership, you are charged $159).
If you need to suspend longer than 60 days we suggest canceling your membership and repurchasing on your return OR submitting another suspension form at the end of your 60 day suspension to extend another 30 to 60 days.
Class Tardiness
If you are more than ten (10) minutes late for a scheduled class, you must choose another class to attend or take the next occurrence of that particular class.
Class Attendance
We want to promote a safe, fun and healthy environment for members to thrive and reach their goals. It is not safe to take any of our classes in a back to back fashion except for M/Strong or Yoga paired with a class. If you would like to take more than a single class in a day it must follow the following format: one class in the AM (5:00am through 12pm) and one class in the PM (4:00pm – 8pm).
Open Class Time
At specific times during the day at either location we offer “Open Class” time. Open Class is defined as class time that is not instructor led but is the current Workout of the Day. This is NOT open gym time. If you are found to be “doing your own thing” and not what is written on the board for your specific membership you will be asked to leave the facility and come back for a scheduled class time. If you are not confident in your movement patterns or have less than 6 months experience you cannot take advantage of open class time unless it’s been cleared by a coach.
Open Gym
Open Gym is offered to CrossFit members ONLY on Sundays from 10am – 12pm. We do not offer open gym at any other time. Mecka members are not permitted to take open gym unless permitted by a coach. We do not offer any times during the day for “traditional gym activities”.
Class Cancellations due to Circumstance
Classes can be cancelled at management’s discretion due to any and all unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to inclement weather, power outages, etc. If a class is cancelled that you are registered for, you will receive the credit back for the class that was cancelled. If the facility has to close for a prolonged period of time, please fill out the cancellation or suspension form. Any class with zero attendees is cancelled sixty (60) minutes prior to the start of that class. Memberships are not automatically cancelled or suspended.
Parking Options
Parking is a first come first serve basis. Members may park in the front lot of Mecka Fitness, on the street while abiding by township rules, in the bottom lot of the St. Bernards Church, the parking garage or any other parking area within the vicinity of the gym. Parking is NOT available in the first ten (10) spots alongside St. Bernards Church or at St. Bernards Rectory.
Strip Parking is STREET PARKING. Members and staff are prohibited from parking in the Smallman Apartments Lot.
Fitness Attire
Typical fitness attire is required to take any class at Mecka Fitness, this includes but is not limited to “fitness” or “athletic” type clothing, tennis shoes or similar footwear, etc. Sandals and flip-flops are prohibited to wear for class participation.
Age Restrictions
To attend a Mecka Fitness or CrossFit class you must be 16 years of age or older. Any child younger than 16 must have a parent present to participate in a Mecka class. Any child younger than 10 must participate in our CrossFit Kids/Teen class. Age range for our CrossFit Kids/Teens class is nine (9) to seventeen (17) years old. If you are 16 years of age or older for a CrossFit class we ask that the teen take our Teen class first for coach observation to ensure movement and maturity is ready for an Adult CrossFit class. If the coach deems it is OK for the Teen to move up, we will need a parent or guardian’s signature for the teen’s permission to do a 1o1 session with a coach to learn all the movements of CrossFit and to attend regular class.
Lost & Found
If you lose something – GREAT NEWS! We have a lost and found. It is located on the right side of the ramp that leads into the CrossFit room in Mt. Lebanon and behind the front desk in the Strip District. If you need assistance on locating the lost and found, please see the front desk.
